Barry McCall Best-in-State Wealth Advisor

McCall & Associates, an independent wealth advisor firm in Brentwood, Tenn., announced today that managing principal Barry McCall was named to the Forbes 2020 Best-In-State Wealth Advisors List. This marks the first time McCall has been recognized by Forbes.

Established in 1988, McCall & Associates was founded by G.C. “Mac” McCall as an alternative to the traditional wirehouses where financial services could be offered without required quotas and pushy sales goals. Since Barry McCall joined alongside his father in 1998, McCall & Associates has repositioned to offer holistic financial planning in an objective and unbiased way.

As of February 2020, McCall & Associates has over $200 million in assets under management, servicing families and individuals from 30 states, in addition to a strategic relationship with First National Bank.

“I am honored and grateful to be named among the state of Tennessee’s top financial advisors,” said McCall. “This recognition is a result of the efforts and dedication of our entire team, and I am fortunate to work with each of them. I’m thankful our clients have graciously allowed us to be stewards of their financial lives.”

“It’s a privilege to work with someone who truly puts their clients’ best interests before their own,” said Steve Alverson, CFP®, financial advisor and partner at McCall & Associates. “The Forbes recognition is a testament to not only the hard work and dedication Barry as devoted to his clients, but also his character. I am honored to be a part of his firm.”

Forbes’ List of Best-In-State Wealth Advisors recognizes more than 4,000 top advisors across the country who were nominated by their firms – and then researched, interviewed and assigned a ranking within their respective states. SHOOK Research, the company that created the list, bases the rankings on an algorithm with quantitative and qualitative criteria including revenue trends, client retention data, community involvement, industry experience, and in-person interviews. Advisors on this list must have a minimum of seven years’ experience to be considered.

“Here is what our research has found: the very best advisors are laser-focused on having a positive impact on their clients’ lives,” said R.J. Shook, president and founder of SHOOK Research. “They want to add meaning, help them live better… If we are going to recommend advisors to the public, we have to make sure every advisor is high quality and can provide ‘impact’.”

The Forbes ranking of Best-In-State Wealth Advisors, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative criteria, mostly gained through telephone and in-person due diligence interviews, and quantitative data. Those advisors that are considered have a minimum of seven years of experience, and the algorithm weights factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass best practices in their practices and approach to working with clients. Portfolio performance is not a criteria due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Out of approximately 32,000 nominations, more than 4,000 advisors received the award. This ranking is not indicative of advisor’s future performance, is not an endorsement, and may not be representative of individual clients’ experience. Neither Raymond James nor any of its Financial Advisors or RIA firms pay a fee in exchange for this award/rating. Raymond James is not affiliated with Forbes or Shook Research, LLC.
